Somewhere out of Calvary
The man walked with strange
courage and forbearing
The troubles of the world
had cascaded from
the sky that night
and come to rest firmly
on his shoulders.

He shuffled slowly through
dusty paths that millions
had trod before.
The weight he carried,
he could share with no-one,
for he carried a destiny
that must be kept safe
for all time.

Somewhere,
years later,
the scribblings of a mad man,
who had witnessed the departure
of the stranger out of Calvary
were found
not on this Earth
nor any other Earth
but etched on to the back
of someone’s mind
